Going to
Going to is for intentions you already have (you made your decision already). 

Going to is always used after a form of the to be verb and before an infinitive verb.
  • I am going to visit my grandmother next week.
  • We are going to binge that series this weekend.

Will
Will is for intentions formed at the moment of speaking (promise, offer).

1. For things in the future that you did not plan.
  • He’ll help you with your bags.
2. To make predictions that are not based on present or past evidence.
  • I guess he will cook something for us.
3. For promises
  • I’ll always love you.

Going to
1 For plans and intentions made before the moment they were spoken.
  • Example: I am going to accept the job!

2 To make predictions that are very likely to be true.
  • Example: Look at those clouds, it is going to rain!

3 Use it as a general verb form for the future, especially in spoken English.
  • Example: What time are you going to visit grandma?

Modal verbs: can
Example: I can ride a bike.
  • In this sentence, can is the modal verb and ride is the main verb
  • Can gives extra information; it indicates the ability to ride a bike.

They should ride a bike instead of taking the car.

We should invite our friends to dinner.

I must stop at a stop sign.
  • obligation (usually by outside party)
You must visit that place sometimes!

You can use modal verbs to express the following things:

1 Ability: someone is able to do something
2 Obligation: something should happen or someone should do something
3 Possibility: something is possible
4 Prediction: you think something is going to happen
5 Wish: you want something to happen or someone to do something
