What's the difference?
  • Both "the map had been crafted" and "the map has been crafted" are correct, but they serve different purposes:
  • "The map had been crafted" is in the past perfect passive voice. It suggests that the crafting of the map was completed before another past action or point in time.
  • "The map has been crafted" is in the present perfect passive voice. It indicates that the crafting of the map was completed at some unspecified time before now and may have relevance to the present.
  • The choice between them depends on the context of what you're trying to convey!
