Comparative and superlative adjectives

• so what about a superlative?

So that means..

• a comparative ends in -er
• a superlative ends in -est.
• which makes for example:
• soft, Softer, softest
• let's practise some more!

John is tall.
But John is ......... than his brother

My car is fast.
But his car is ...... than mine!

It is cold today.
But it was even ............ yesterday.

That house is bigger than ours.
It is the ................ in the neighborhood.

My phone is smaller than yours.

Some info:

• one-syllable adjectives with either -er OR -est
• BUT!
• What about two-syllable adjectives ending in: -le, -er, -ow, -y? (leerowy)
• Know any?
• Words like: nimble, clever, narrow, happy
• Write down the Comparative and Superlative of these words!

For example:

• nimbler, nimblest
• cleverer, cleverest
• narrower, narrowest
• happier, happiest
• Something is off.... can you find out what?

Three-syllable adjectives

• with more or most instead of -er OR -est 
• Example words:
• Beautiful, more beautiful, most beautiful
• Dangerous, more dangerous, most dangerous
• Expensive, more expensive, most expensive
• Succesful, more succesful, most succesful

Assignment:

• Write down 20 adjectives in total
• 5 regular adjectives (that will have -er OR -est like tall/dark)
• 5 adjectives ending in:  -le, -er, -ow, -y. (leerowy) 
• 5 three-syllable adjectives: which uses more/most
• 5 own choice adjectives
• Write down the adjective - comparative - superlative!
