Introduction

Because the students' responses in the mind map can be moved, the mind map is perfect to use as a basis for an activity with a Venn diagram. The students' responses are displayed in the mind map, and then these responses can be placed in the 'correct' location in the Venn diagram (which serves as a background image in the word web). Especially now that the location of the responses is saved, the completed Venn diagram can also be accessed later in the lesson or in subsequent lessons.

Instructions

This activity is highly effective for activating prior knowledge. By first asking the students to provide one or more examples from both circles, and then having them search for logical relationships between these examples, you go beyond merely asking for words and progress to other parts of the lesson. It is precisely the contemplation of each other's responses that adds even more value to the process of activating prior knowledge.

Aardappeloproer
1917
