WHAT IS A STUDENT PORTFOLIO?

Every day, many lessons are shared with students: as homework, or as reference material for a test. Yet sharing lessons in LessonUp doesn't stop there.

You can also use a shared lesson as a portfolio, in which students can place materials they (or you) find important to keep. This can be a subject-specific portfolio or a portfolio used in multiple years.

HOW DO I CREATE A STUDENT PORTFOLIO?

Open the lesson 'Student Portfolio' below. This is an example portfolio for Career Guidance, where students can store documents and insights related to study and career choices.

Use the slides from this lesson as an example. You can determine the look of the portfolio yourself.
Here are some ideas:
  • Photo questions (students can upload screenshots of assignments and exercises)
  • Poll (as part of a number of statements)
  • Open question (what does the student think about something now and how about a few years later?)

HOW DO I SHARE LESSONS?

The easiest way to share the portfolio is via a LessonUp class and the lesson modules. This way, the portfolio is always within reach of the students.

How do I share a lesson?
  1. Go to 'My Classes' and select the class in which you want to use a lesson module.
  2. Go to the 'Shared Lessons' tab.
  3. Click 'Create a Lesson Module' and give the lesson module a name.
  4. Click on the lesson module and click 'Add Lesson.' Add the lesson you want to share with your class.
Click here for more information about lesson modules.

WHAT DOES THE STUDENT SEE?

The students can always access the shared lessons from their own LessonUp account. This way, the portfolio is always within their reach.

WHERE DO I VIEW THE REPORTS?

View students results:
  1. Go to 'My Classes.'
  2. Select the class you want to view.
  3. Click on 'Lesson Results.'
  4. Click on the lesson for which you want to see the results.
  5. Click on 'Report' on the right side.
  6. Choose whether you want to view the report per class, lesson, or student.
