Welke vormen?

1. Present Simple (stam of stam + s bij he/she/it)
2. Present Continuous (am/are/is + ww met -ing)
3. To be going to + hele ww 
4. Will / Shall + hele ww

Maar wanneer welke vorm?

1. Present Simple

Je gebruikt de Present Simple als iets in de toekomst volgens een schema gaat gebeuren. Dit zijn dingen die heel zeker zijn.

Bijvoorbeeld roosters en treintijden.

The train arrives at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning.

2. Present Continuous

Je gebruikt de Present Continuous als dingen 

afgesproken / geregeld zijn en vrijwel zeker gaan gebeuren.

My mom and I are visiting Amsterdam this Saturday.

Signaalwoorden: NATTL!

Now - At the moment - tonight/tommorrow
- this monday/this week -  listen!/look!

Het verschil tussen de Present Continuous en 

to be going to + hele ww is echter minimaal!

Je kunt deze best wel eens door elkaar heen gebruiken!

3. To be going to + hele ww

Je gebruikt to be going to + hele ww als dingen vooraf al gepland zijn en als je een voorspelling doet met bewijs.

Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain.

I am not going to the school dance tomorrow, because I didn't buy a ticket.

4. Will + hele ww

Je gebruikt will  + hele ww als dingen 

spontaan gebeuren en als je een voorspelling doet zonder bewijs (bijvoorbeeld een mening).

I think we will stay inside a few more weeks longer.

Will It rain tomorrow? If not, we are going to the beach!

4. Shall + hele ww

Je gebruikt shall + hele ww voor  

spontaan aanbieden van iets en als je een suggestie doet in de toekomst. Dit is dan in de vorm van een vraag bij we/I:

Shall we go to the park later?

Who shall I invite to the party?

Chris _____ her grandmother tomorrow.
