Vaak gebruik je de past simple en past continuous in één zin.
Past simple geeft aan wat er gebeurde terwijl iets anders aan de hand was (Past Continuous)
Oftewel:
Past simple = korte gebeurtenissen
Past Continuous = Lange gebeurtenissen.
