What do you have
to write in an application?

Letter of application

Same structure as a letter of complaint

- Introduction:

Where did you find the job offer? Who are you and why do you write?

TIP: start your letter with 'The reason I am writing' or 'I am writing to apply for the role of...' 

Letter of application

- Body:

Why are you interested? Talk about what you know of the company. Talk about your skills and qualifications and how they suit the job and company. (resume/cv)

TIP: start paragraphs with 'firstly, secondly, thirdly...'

Letter of application

- Conclusion:

Say that you would like to have a job interview and that you are looking forward to their response. 

TIP: finish with 'I am looking forward to hearing from you'

"we are looking for a Junior programmer who can help us modernise Facebook. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and who speaks English fluently"
