Online Essay
On the 15th of February, all of year four will be doing their literary essay on Born a Crime (grade x4). This test was initially scheduled to take place at school, but due to the given circumstances you will be taking it from the safe confines of your home.
The benefit of doing this digitally is that you can use your macbooks (and spelling check!). It goes without saying that this might also provide some downsides. In order to minimize these downsides, we would like to inform you of the protocol that we’ll follow (Document uploaded to Classroom).

Online Essay
On the 15th of February you will write your literary essay on Born a Crime. The essay questions will be shared with you via classroom at the start of the test (15:00 o’clock).

You will have 90 min to write your literary essay (excluding extra time for special needs). This means that you need to hand in your work on both classroom and turnitin by 16:30.

Handing in your essay
You need to hand in your test on classroom and turnitin (PDF), we will provide you with a 5 min window to do so.

This means that if you haven’t handed in your work by 16.35 this will result in a 1 (as this counts as not having handed in your work at the end of the test). If you’re worried about forgetting the time - set an alarm on your macbook.

Absent - ill
In case you are ill on the day of the test, your parents need to send an email to your teacher before 12:00 o’clock. If your teacher hasn’t received an email from your parents, you will receive a 1.

Note
In case you are experiencing any difficulties with uploading your test to either turnitin or the classroom, you immediately notify your teacher via email and you attach your work (PDF) to that email as proof that you attempted to hand it in on time. Please note that your teacher won’t grade your work until it has gone through the plagiarism check on turnitin.
