How do you practise reading?

What is the first thing you should do when approaching a reading test

1. Read the text
2. Read the questions
3. Read the title, look at the pictures/other noticable aspects

Step by Step: regular MC questions

1. Read the title, look at the pictures + other aspects that stand out

3. Read the (first) question

4. Read the part of the text that goes with the question

5. Think of your own answer + check if it's there

6. Answer not there? = Eliminate the incorrect options

7. Repeat steps until the text is finished

How do you answer open questions?

1. In Dutch
2. In English

Tips

• Only look up vocabulary that you do not understand if it stops you from understanding the bigger picture. Context can usually help you.
  You may use a dictionary for the real test.
• Make sure you can point out the answer in the text, this should make you more confident that it's correct. 
• Do exactly as they ask. For example, when they ask you to quote (citeer), do not do it the Dutch way. Do as they ask.
