A lot - gebruik in bevestigende zinnen met telbare en ontelbare zelfstandige naamwoorden:
        We need a lot of donations.

2. Many – telbare zelfstandige naamwoorden in bevestigende zinnen & vragen:
          Are there many people here?
 Have you got many books?
3. Much – ontelbare zelfstandige naamwoorden in bevestigende zinnen & vragen:
      We don’t have much time.

In bevestigende zinnen worden many and much weinig gebruikt. Gebruikt ze wel na so, as en too:
