Plot diagram

• Helps with making a summary. (Examples: Books, TV-shows, movies, short stories.)
• Helps with understanding the plot. (Cause and effect.)
• Has a: Start (Exposition) - Conflict - Rising Action - Climax - Falling Action - End (Resolution)

Plot diagram (overview)

Exposition: The start of an episode: What or where is the scene being played.

Conflict: Does any of the characters do something that cause conflict?

Rising Action: What do the characters do to get to the climax of the story.

Climax: The most important event of the conflict.

Falling action: The fallout of the climax, what happens after?

Resolution: The end of the story, how or where does the episode end?

• The second episode you will write a plot diagram based on that episode.
• For both episodes you will receive a paper that you can work on!
