Yesterday, I walked back to my old school. I used to live near there a few years ago. Back then I always lived like I had a lot of money and went to every party. I worked a lot to get my money, but I spent every single dime of it. I have never regretted anything more.

Past Simple - Questions or negations

Past Simple - Signal words

In a past simple sentences, there are often clues called signal words such as;

• yesterday
• last week
• ten minutes ago
• in 2007
• this morning
  

Check: You use the past simple when..

1. Something is happening in the future
2. Something happens every day
3. Something happened in the past, and is finished
4. Something hasn't happened yet

Present perfect:
When do you use it?

1. When something happened in the past, but it's not important when it happened
2. A and C are both incorrect
3. When something happened in the past and it is still ongoing
4. A and C are both correct

Present perfect

Use the present perfect when talking about something in the past. It has already happened, or ongoing.  

Present Perfect - Signal words

1. hele werkwoord + -ed. (worked)
2. shit rule = hele ww + -s
3. vorm van to be (am/are/is) + hele werkwoord + -ing
