STRATEGY Introduction, body and conclusion
Most texts are made up of an introduction, a body and a conclusion. This setup gives structure to the text.
- In the introduction, the first part of a text, the subject of the text is introduced. The introduction often grabs your attention with a story or an example that makes you want to read the rest of the text.
- The body of a text is made up of paragraphs. Each paragraph focuses on one topic and gives reasons, explanations or examples to support it.
- The conclusion is the last part of a text. It wraps up the text, by summing up the most important information, repeating the main subject or idea, looking forward to the next step, or presenting a quote, question, joke or surprising fact.
