They both change the meaning of the word.

Prefixes are letters you can place BEFORE a word. 

Suffixes are letters that go at THE END of a word.

Phrasal Verbs
- Phrasal Verbs = combinatie van een werkwoord + voorzetsel
- in, on, up, away, by, about, over, around, out, off, down, back, 
   through, along, forward

- Soms duidelijke betekenis: "get on", "drive off", "come back"
- Soms onduidelijker: "lay off" (ontslaan), "keep up" (volhouden)
