- s aan woord vast 

- sis-klank krijgt ~es (boxes)

- woord op medeklinker + o krijgt oes (tomatoes)

maar: photos, omdat dit een afkorting is van photograph

- woord op ~y krijgt ~ies (baby/ babies)

- woord op ~f krijgt ~ves (loaf / loaves)

maar: roof / roofs of chief / chiefs

- sommige woorden hebben eigen vorm (children/ men, fish...)
