The Welsh language
Did you know that Welsh is the oldest language in Britain? Possibly dating back more than 4,000 years, Welsh is the national language of Wales. Although almost all Welsh people use English on a daily basis, Welsh still plays an important role in the culture of Wales. All Welsh children learn it in school and it is spoken by around 21% of the population.
