Objectives

While learning about cultures, the goal of this lesson is to have students identity cultures differences and give advices about optimize the communication between different cultures.

Which country is this man from?

Which subculture is this guy part of?

Stereotype game

Grab a note out of the bucket. The note tells you a country. Your task is to decribe by carachteristics in maximum one minute the country you grabbed.

 

Hofstede cultural dimentions

Hofstede uses four categories to define a culture 

Each category analyses how an individual’s behaviour in society as a whole is dependent on one’s culture: 

Use the same culture as with the stereotype game and find out what Hofstede's model says about your country

Compare with your neighbour

Compare your results with your neighbour

Which difference could work possitive if the cultures would work together?

What could clash?

Adjust to each other

Think of two advice for the two countries to optimilize the collaboration between the two cultures 

Present in pairs 

Present individual the culture you did research about

Eventually you explain the difference between your cultures and tell the sollutions for a better collaboration
