What is the present perfect

• voltooid tegenwoordige tijd 

When do you use the present perfect?

• wanneer een actie in het verleden nog steeds effect heeft op dit moment.
• wanneer een actie in het verleden is begonnen en nog niet is geëindigd . 

Example:

I have spilled coffee

on my shirt.

Example:

He has slapped him.

Example

He has slipped.

Explanation

een recente gebeurtenis met gevolgen in de toekomst.

• He has slapped him, that's why his face hurts.

• My shirt is dirty because I have spilled coffee on it.

Explanation

He has slipped, now he has 

a broken elbow.

Questions to ask yourself:

• Is het recent?
• Zijn de resultaten nog zichtbaar?
• Is de actie lang geleden begonnen en nog steeds gaande?
