Stap 1: Je moet bepalen of de hoofdzin positief of negatief is.

Stap 2: Als de hoofdzin positief is, dan moet de question tag negatief zijn en andersom

Stap 3: Zoek het eerste werkwoord in de hoofdzin.

Uitzondering 1

Sommige werkwoorden kunnen niet negatief.

Je gebruikt 1 van de volgende vormen: 

-  don't (I, we, you, they)

- doesn't (SHIT)

Uitzondering 2

I am good at sport, ......?

Als je hoofdzin positief is met het woord am, dan gebruik je in de tag question NIET

am not I, maar aren't I?

Dus: I am good at sports, aren't I?
