Adelaide Christmas Parade
The Christmas Parade of Adelaide is a parade that is held in South Australian capital, Adelaide. It began in 1933 & it’s celebrated on the second saturday of November. It already exist 87 years! The founder is Sir Edward Hayward.
If you listened well, you heard that it’s on the second Saturday of November, so not on christmas day or eve. It’s all part of the arrival of Father Christmas, also known as Santa Claus.
The parade starts at 9:30 am. it has around 1,700 volunteers. The Parade is officialy recognised as a ‘heritage icon’ by the National Trust of Australia.
It’s the second largest parade of its kind in the world, following only Macy’s Thanksgivings day parade.
