Pitch

 - in front of the staff you can see a treble clef. This clef shows you the location of the note called 'G'. 

- Names of the notes: C - D - E - F - G - A - B - C etc. etc

- It doesn't matter if the stem of a note points up or down. The most important thing is the 'dot'. This shows you how high or how low you should play the note.

Notes on or between the lines

Ledger lines

- when notes are higher or lower than the staff

This extra line added to a note is called a ledger line

Tone duration: rests

certain moments when you don't play and when it is silent.

Motif

- short musical fragment which comes back more often. It gets repeated multiple times

Variation and Ostinate

Variation = when a motif is being changed. You can change a motif in pitch, but also in rhythm or by making the motif longer or shorter.

Ostinate = when a motif is repeated for a long time

Four groups of instruments:

- Stringed instruments

- Wind instruments

- Percussion

- Electronic instruments

Welk instrument hoort niet thuis in het rijtje? Sleep dat instrument naar het kruis.

Vraag de leerlingen waarom dit instrument er niet bij hoort en laat ze de namen van de instrumenten noemen.

Van links naar rechts:

viool, harp, djembé en gitaar. 

De djembé hoort er niet bij, want dat is geen snaarinstrument.

Kan jij de geluidsfragmenten koppelen aan de juiste instrumenten?

Laat leerlingen eerst de verschillende instrumentgroepen onderscheiden.

- Koperblazers

- Houtblazers

Tip: de piano en harp horen bij het slagwerk. 

 

Luister vervolgens naar de muziekfragmenten en sleep deze naar de juiste instrumentengroep.
