• Je gebruikt de past simple wanneer iets in het verleden is gebeurt.
  
• Als er een tijdsbepaling in de zin staat. (yesterday, last night)
  

Past continuous:

• Wanneer iets in het verleden is gebeurt en een tijdje heeft geduurd.
