• Ice Hockey is the official winter sport and is hugely popular. The NHL has several Canadian teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens.
• Lacrosse is the official summer sport.
• Canada also excels in basketball, with the sport being invented by a Canadian, James Naismith, in 1891.
• The country has strong teams in curling, soccer, and baseball.

Coins & Currency 💰
• The Canadian one-dollar coin is called the "Loonie" because it features a loon (a bird).
• The two-dollar coin is the "Toonie", a mix of "two" and "loonie."
• Canada stopped using pennies in 2013.
• Some Canadian coins glow in the dark! For example, a special 2017 coin featured the aurora borealis.
