Past perfect
Je gebruikt de past perfect als je iets vertelt over twee dingen die in het verleden zijn gebeurd. De ene gebeurtenis vond plaats voor de andere gebeurtenis. 
Het is dus: 'the past of the past'. 

Voorbeeld: He had worked that night before he crashed his car.
