Betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden..
*Big compliment by the way! Everybody was working in a focused manner yesterday. I get the impression that you take your preparation very seriously

Slide 4 - Slide

1. My uncle who lives in New Zealand, will visit us next year.

2. This school building, which was renovated in 2024, is quite large.

Maak de volgende zinnen af: "Who zegt wat over ......" & "which zegt wat over...."

Slide 5 - Open question

In deze twee voorbeeldzinnen..
1.My uncle who lives in New Zealand, will visit us next year.

In zin 1. Zegt 'who' (die) wat over 'My uncle'

2. The school building, which was renovated in 2024, is quite large.

in zin 2. zegt 'which' (dat) wat over 'the school building'.

*'Who' & 'which' zijn betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden. Ze verwijzen naar iets dat eerder genoemd (in de bovenste zinnen: 'my uncle' & 'the school building') wordt; Ze vormen een brugje.

Slide 6 - Slide

Je hebt er 4
-who (die)
-Which (welke, dat)
-that (dat)
-whose (wiens, van wie)

*Op je tentamen moet je het juiste voornaamwoord kunnen gebruiken (We gaan nu leren welke van de bovenstaande 'betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden' bij welk soort onderwerp van een zin wordt gebruikt);

Slide 7 - Slide

who & which

1. My uncle who lives in New Zealand, is very rich.  (persoon)
2. My aunt who lives in Australia, is very poor.          (persoon

1. The dog, which was very ill, had to be taken to the vet. (dier)
2. Our school building, which is large, has a terrible climate control system (ding
3. The concert, which was a lot of fun, was attended by four hundred people.  (gebeurtenis)

Slide 8 - Slide

1. My sister ______ is a bit older than I am, always tells my parents that I behave well in class.

2. The lesson, _______ was super interesting, was over before the students knew it.
A
1. which 2. who
B
1. who 2. who
C
1. which 2. which
D
1. who 2. which

Slide 9 - Quiz

Het bijzondere betrekkelijke voornaamwoord 'that'.

1. The man that is walking over there, must be the thief. (persoon)
2.  The puppy that is quite young, was adopted by my brother. (dier)
3. The building that was built in 1970, was renovated last year. (ding)
4. The marathon that was organized in July, was the hottest of all marathons (gebeurtenis).

*Waarom zou je dan nog 'who' en 'which' leren? Dat zou je je kunnen afvragen...

*De reden krijg je nu te horen..

Slide 10 - Slide

'that' (dat)

-The man, that stole the wallet, was arrested by the police. (dus hier gebruik je 'who')
-The monkey , that bit my uncle, was locked in a cage.           (dus hier gebruik je 'which')
- The building, that was brand-new, had to be repainted.       (dus hier gebruik je 'which')

The man that stole my wallet, was arrested. (er staat geen ,  achter 'the man')
The monkey that bit my uncle, was locked in a cage. (er staat geen , achter 'the monkey')

Slide 11 - Slide

1.The football player, that earns a million a year, bought a car.
2.The football player that earns a million a year, bought a car.

Slide 12 - Open question

'whose'

1. The scientist whose (wiens) invention got stolen, was very sad.

2. I met someone whose (wiens) dogs can do tricks.

Slide 13 - Slide

KAMPEN - Yesterday, students of Ichthus College witnessed a theft in broad daylight. A suspiciously-looking man 1.______ had been lurking around the school perimeters, stole a car.
