Key information
Lent is a time when Christians remember the time Jesus spent in the wilderness and prepare for Easter through prayer, fasting, and helping others. Lent lasts for 40 days, mirroring the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness.
Jesus fasted, prayed, and resisted temptation from the devil during this time.
Christians today follow Jesus’ example through:
  • Prayer: spending more time talking to God.
  • Fasting: giving something up (like sweets or video games) to practice self-discipline.
  • Charity: helping those in need through acts of kindness or donating.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday.
