Function of stems: 
- Support the flowers, leaves & fruit. 
- Keep the plant upright. 
- Store extra food. 
- Transport water, minerals & food through the plant. 

2 types of stems: 
- WOODY STEMS (trees & bushes) 
- HERBACEOUS STEMS (little herby plants)
