Present continuous

Voorbeeld

I am screaming at my computer right now.

In het Engels gebruik je de Present Continuous als je praat over iets wat nu aan de gang is of iets wat je op dit moment aan het doen bent.

1.  Present ContiNUous gebeurt nu.

• signaalwoorden: now / at the moment / listen; ..... / look; .....
  
• de handeling duurt even (aan het praten, aan het slapen, aan het lezen, etc.)
  
• -ingvorm
  
• je vertaalt het met 'aan het .....'

2. Ik kan de Present Continuous maken.

Voorbeeld: I am walking right now.

                     She is writing at the moment.

3. eindigt het woord op een - e weg ermee!

Sommige werkwoorden eindigen op een 'stomme e'

(je schrijft hem wel maar je hoort hem niet)

move - moving

drive - driving

hope - hoping

make - making

4. klinker + medeklinker = dubbele letter

sommige werkwoorden krijgen een verdubbeling van de medeklinker als er een klinker voor staat:

run - running

swim - swimming

Present continuous

1. Je gebruikt de Present Continuous als iets nu gebeurt.
   
   
2. Dit is de vorm: am / are / is + ww + ing
   
   
3. Werkwoord eindigt op -e? Weg ermee!
   
   
4. Eén lettergreep, eindigt op klinker + medeklinker? = extra medeklinker!

4. was do

Look! They ... him his present

1. are give
2. were give
3. are giving
4. were giving

I ... a book for school right now

1. am read
2. am reading

4. was reading
