When do you use it?
  • when something is happening now.
  • when someone is doing something at the moment.
  • when something is happening around now.

Verbs
am/is/are + verb + ing

It is raining so I have to bring an umbrella.
My parents are watching a movie now. 
I am working on a geography project at the moment.

short forms
I am --> I'm
You are --> you're
He is --> he's
She is --> she's
We are --> we're
You are --> you're
They are --> they're

Verb + ing
Als een werkwoord eindigt op een -e vervalt de -e:
to arrive --> The plane is arriving.
to behave --> The students are behaving very well.

Korte klinker voor de laatste letter --> laatste letter verdubbelt
to let --> I'm not letting you go.
to stop --> Watch out! That car isn't stopping!

Meaning:
Some and any have the same meaning:
enige, enkele, een aantal, wat

Rule
Gebruik some:
  • in bevestigende zinnen
  • in vragen waarop je verwacht dat het antwoord ja is

Gebruik any:
  • in vragen
  • in ontkenningen

I don't have any money left.
