When do you use.... MUCH?

solution:

If a noun is in singular, we use much.

Uncountable nouns = MUCH

- can only be used in singular. 

- These nouns cannot be used with a number (that's why they are called 'uncountable nouns'). Uncountable nouns take much.

Examples:

How much money have you got?

When do you use.... MANY?

If a noun is in plural, we use MANY

Countable nouns = MANY

They have have a singular and a plural form. In plural, these nouns can be used with a number (that's why they are called 'countable nouns').

Fish

COUNTABLE NOUN = 

A fish is a creature that lives in water and has a tail and fins. There are many different kinds of fish.

Example: 

I was chatting to an islander who had just caught a fish.

The fish were counted and an average weight recorded. 

UNCOUNTABLE NOUN =

Fish is the flesh of a fish eaten as food.

Does dry white wine go best with fish?
