What was the Holocaust?
The Holocaust was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of approximately six million European Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators in the years leading up to and during World War II.

Nazi's also targeted other groups, including:
  • Roma (what they called 'gypsies'- an ethnic group whose ancestry originated in India and Pakistan)
  • People with disabilities
  • Other 'slavic' people (Poles, Russians)
  • Communists

  • Jehova's witnesses
  • Homosexuals 
  • Germans of African descent
