Passive or Active?

ACTIVE= He is stealing a bike.

Bijvoorbeeld:

The package was delivered yesterday. (het doet er niet toe door wie).
My bike has been stolen. (je weet niet door wie)

Slide 8 - Slide

Hoe herken je een passive?
  1. Staat er een vorm van 'to be'?
    (am/are/is/was/were)
  2. Staat daarna een voltooid deelwoord? (played, broken etc.)
  3. Staat daarna 'by ....'? Zoniet, kun je 'by zombies' erachter
    zetten?
The poor girl was killed (by zombies).

From active to passive...
The cat chases the mouse.

'chases' is een present simple --> present simple van "to be" --> is
The mouse is chased by the cat.

Slide 19 - Slide

Van active naar passive: 4 stappen
  2. Kijk in welke tense de actieve zin staat.
  3. Gebruik deze tense om het ww ‘to be’ te vormen in de nieuwe zin.
    5. Alleen indien nodig: zet 'by...' erachter
