Sentences that illustrate the difference between the present perfect and present perfect continuous (1):
I’ve been writing since 10 o'clock. My hand hurts.
The focus is on the action taking place – writing – 
and the action is/may be unfinished.

I’ve written a letter to my friend. 
The focus is on the finished result. The activity is finished but we can see the result now.

We have been talking for days.
You emphasise the fact that something has been happening a lot recently.

We haven't talked to him since last Friday.
This action has started in the past and is still ongoing at present.

Correct = He has belonged to the country club since 2005.
