What is Scrum?
Scrum is an agile way to manage projects by breaking work into specific tasks.
Sprint Review and Retrospective: At the end of each sprint, the team reviews what they’ve done and discusses improvements.

Slide 7 - Slide

Scrum Roles:

Product Owner: Decides what the team should work on.
Scrum Master: Helps the team stay focused.
Development Team: Does the actual work.
Scrum Framework:
Product Backlog: List of everything that needs to be done.

Slide 8 - Slide

Scrum Framework
Product Backlog: List of everything that needs to be done.
Sprint: A short time (1-4 weeks) to complete specific tasks.
Sprint Review and Retrospective: At the end of each sprint, the team reviews what they’ve done and discusses improvements.

Slide 9 - Slide

Activity:

think of projects they’ve done in school. Could breaking the work into smaller pieces (like Scrum sprints) have helped?

Slide 10 - Slide

Challenges:
Not enough teachers available in many regions.
Difficulty in matching teachers to schools quickly.

How does the shortage affect students, teachers, and schools? What solutions have been tried?

Slide 11 - Slide

Topic
the development of a live connection system for connecting people interested in secondary education across the Netherlands to address the teacher shortage, using Scrum methodology as the development approach.

Slide 12 - Slide

What is a live connection system?

An online platform that connects qualified teachers or individuals interested in teaching with schools in need of staff.
How it works:
Teachers and potential candidates can register.
Schools post vacancies or needs.
The system matches people to schools based on location, skills, and availability.

Slide 13 - Slide

Benefits
Quicker response to teacher shortages.
Connects schools to a larger pool of candidates.
Helps retired or part-time teachers find temporary or flexible teaching roles.

Slide 14 - Slide

How Scrum helps build the live connection system
Product Backlog: Lists all the features needed, like user registration, matching algorithms, school profiles.
Sprints: The development team works on a few features at a time, like setting up the registration system in the first sprint.
Daily Stand-ups: The team meets daily to discuss progress and any obstacles.
Sprint Review: After each sprint, the team checks if the features work as planned.

Slide 15 - Slide

Example Sprint:
Sprint Goal: Create a user-friendly registration form for teachers.
Tasks: Design the form, set up the database, test the form.

Slide 16 - Slide

Do NOW !
Each group creates a product backlog for the live connection system.
They list features they think are important (e.g., user profiles, search functionality, messaging system).
