With your group, find information on the pirate allocated to you. 

1. Blackbeard

- English marineer

- He hijacked an English ship and raided the Caribbean

- He lit matches under his hat to give the impression of being on fire.

Did Blackbeard really exist?

1. Yes

He starred in the Pirates of the Carribean as well

2. François l’Olonnais

- French marineer assigned to attack Spanish ships

- Bloodthirst grew and became pirate

- Killed off by natives who presumably put pieces of his body into a fire.

He had a Dutch wanted-poster!

3. Captain Morgan

- Famous for smuggling and drinking a lot of rum

- Was attacked by the Dutch marine and lost leg in the fight

- Had many secret lairs on the British virgin islands

4. Black Bart

- Most succesfull and profitable pirate

- Was very fashionable

- Was only active for 2,5 year as a captain

- Was drowned by his own crew to prevent capture
