  • Personal tone; you know the person (friend/family etc)
  • Simple structure;
  • Samentrekkingen (I'm, can't) en afkortingen (CU later) mogen
  • Empathy and emotion; it doesn't have to be dry - use words like 'love', 'hate' etc.

  2. How: Follow the steps of the writing assignment 
  3. Time: 20 minutes
  4. Help: Check yo'self, your neighbour, juf/me
  5. Finished: Hand-in, we will discuss most common mistakes and personal feedback
  6. Done?

Assignment - you are writing your friend in England
  • Start your letter with 'dear  (name)
  • At least 9 sentences: where you are, what it is like, what you are doing, where you are staying, what you were doing last night when something happened, something interesting about the incident or your reaction, tell what used to be different in the past, ask about your friend's live.
  • Finish your letter

  • Switch with neighbour and make suggestions for improvement. Is everything there?
  • Adjust postcard using suggestions
  • Hand in
