Present Simple in normale zinnen 

Je gebruikt de present simple bij:

- algemene waarheden en feiten 

- gewoontes, dingen die vaak gebeuren 

I / we / you / they ==> heel werkwoord 

He / she / it ==> heel werkwoord + (e)s

• I always wash the dishes. (to wash)
• My dog always barks at squirrels. (to bark) 
• The boys like to play football. (to like)
• My sister tidies her room every weekend. (to tidy)

LET GOED OP BIJ DE VOLGENDE GEVALLEN:

• Ww die eindigen op een s-klank (sh, ch, s, ss) krijgen -es als uitgang: watches, brushes, tosses 
• Ww die eindigen op een medeklinker + y krijgen als uitgang -ies: tidies (to tidy), cries (to cry), tries (to try)
• Bij 'to go' en 'to do' voeg je -es toe: he goes, he does. 

Suzan always (watch) TV in the afternoon.

Present Simple in de ontkenning

• Bij to be voeg je alleen 'not' toe. Bijvoorbeeld: I am not, you are not / you aren't, he is not / he isn't 
• Bij andere werkwoorden gebruik je do not + heel ww of does not + heel ww. 

Present Simple in de ontkenning

• Kate's mother does not play the piano.
• I don't like French music.
• The dog doesn't bark at squirrels.
• You are not a fan of books, are you?
• He isn't proud of his actions.

Klopt deze zin?
"The boys doesn't understand the question."

Hoe maak je deze zin ontkennend?
"Her mother is an architect."

Present Simple in vragen

• Bij to be noem je eerst het werkwoord, daarna het onderwerp: I am --> am I? The boy is strong --> Is the boy strong?
• Bij andere werkwoorden gebruik je eerst do/does, daarna het onderwerp, en daarna het hele ww. Bijvoorbeeld: Tim plays --> does Tim play? The dog barks --> Does the dog bark?

Present Simple in vragen

• Does your mother cook well?
• Do you drink a glass of milk in the morning?
• Does your cousin speak Italian?
• Are you happy?
• Why does everybody want money? 
• How do you know that that is true?
