Wanneer gebruik je Past Continuous?

  • Je gebruikt de Past Continuous om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden een tijdje duurde of een tijdje aan de gang was. 

  • Het verschil met de Past Simple is dus dat de Past Simple gaat om een moment, terwijl de Past Continuous gaat over een langere gebeurtenis

  • Om te praten over iets wat in het verleden is begonnen, en nu nog aan de gang is (nog niet afgelopen)

Bob has known John since they were 10.
Mary has worked at the market for 5 years now.
