Speaking and listening activities
The final Sem 1 assessment is a creative oral presentation.

You need to think about:
purpose - What is the aim of your presentation?
audience - Who is the audience? How will you engage them?
resources - What do you need to prepare? What do you need on the day?
prepare - write out what you want to say, create palm cards or PowerPoint to help you remember main points (keywords only)

Continuum
1. Ellen will give you a statement about topics that shouldn't be too personal/controversial (4 repeats)
2. On the imaginary line, stand in a position that fits with your opinion (i.e. do you strongly agree/disagree, sometimes/a little, no opinion).
3. You will then speak to:
  • someone near you on the line
  • someone who had an opposite opinion
