the composition of blood

--> blood plasma:

• Carries substances + fibrinogen (clotting)

--> solids

• Red blood cells, 
• White blood cells, 
• Platelets.

• Primary function: carrying oxygen.

• Contains Haemoglobin.

Haemoglobin can hold oxygen and also release it again.

White blood cells

• Function: destroy pathogens (ziekteverwekkers)
  

• No fixed shape.
  

• Pus: dead white blood cells and bacteria.

•  Function: Important in clotting.

• Platelets are not cells: they are parts of broken-up cells.
