Emails- Lesson 7 

Emails is a method of communicating by sending messages through email servers

Email is known as a Store and Forward system

Email uses the following Protocols when sending and receiving Emails

1. POP 3
   
2. IMAP
   
3. SMTP
   

SMTP is used to send emails from Home to a Server 

Study the Diagram and we will go though  it

Client- This is the Email sender

MUA - Mail User Client - A software that can send emails such as outlook.

MSA_ Checks  Email for Errors and send it to the MTA

MTA -Mail Transfer Protocol This send the Email from sender towards receiver.

MDA -  Mail Delivery Protocol takes the Mail from the MTA to the Mail box. 

POP3 - Protocol that captures the Mail from the mailbox to the clients computer.

Email Protocols Explained

MSA_ A server program that receives mail from an MUA, checks for any errors, and transfers it (with SMTP) to the MTA hosted on the same server.

MTA -Mail Transfer Protocol This send the Email from sender towards receiver.

MDA - Mail Delivery Protocol takes the Mail from the MTA to the Mail box.

POP3 - Protocol that captures the Mail from the mailbox to the clients computer.
