  • In pairs: working on a newspaper
  • You'll be graded on the product itself (newspaper and looks+ requirements), your writing and your presentation

4 articles (requirements in Teams Opdrachten):

- regional news - 80 words
- interview - 100 words
- 3 days weather forecast for 3 countries - 80 words
- extremely happy news - 100 words

Newspaper articles should:

- include facts
- have a short, snappy and informative headline (title)
– name of the reporter
– place of event
- provide a summary at the start explaining what happened (but not giving everything away!)
- use of paragraphs to help the reader clearly understand the information

Creating a great headline
  • one sentence inviting the reader to read
  • in this sentence the reader immediately knows what the article is about, so be creative and concrete

always include:
- Who, what, where, when (and, maybe: why, and how)
- Make the story interesting
- Use clean, crisp English. News writing should be short and to the point. News stories deliver the facts quickly
- Add pictures
- Be accurate
- Spell Check, and punctuation!

0 Introducing yourselves as the news reader, weather (wo)man, the interviewer, the person that is being interviewed and the bringer of extremely happy news
0 Now, bring the news that was in your newspaper as if you are actually presenting the news
0 You can add a background or sound effects
0 The two of you will present the news in a 3 minute video and hand it in (Flipgrid)
