Which of the below is an example of showing respect?

1. Thinking about how someone else feels.
2. Waiting your turn to answer a question.
3. Being proud of your classmate.

What does 'self-esteem' mean?

1. Saying that you are bad at things.
2. Accepting yourself just as you are.
3. Not believing in yourself.
4. Not accepting your weaknesses.

Let's share -
Describe something about yourself that you are good at or proud of...
Or you could describe something you feel less confident about.

Why can building your self-esteem be difficult sometimes?

1. You are busy.
2. Your brain focuses on negative thoughts.
3. You only have positive thoughts.
4. You only have negative thoughts.

Activity

Let's build those confidence muscles in our brains!

MA/HA students is to complete a 'Confidence Booster' sheet.

LA students - 'Amazing' worksheet, they will need support with writing.

Encourage students to think about what they are good at or maybe something they have done they are proud of. It could be that they are a good friend etc...

We are have a mix of positive and negative thoughts, what could help build your confidence?

1. Try to listen to both of them at the same time.
2. Try to let them go and listen to the ones that help you.
3. Only listen to the negative ones.

Share something that you want to get better at or achieve this year...

Give an example to support students:

- Handwriting

- Reading

- Confidence in class

- Maths

Why is it important to make mistakes?

1. Because they are always fun
2. To help others
3. To get help
4. To build our confidence
