Simple sentence

• Altijd 1 onderwerp (wie of wat) en 1 persoonsvorm (doet of deed)
• 1 subject and 1 verb

Examples:

1. I work at a supermarket every saturday.

2. He is washing his car.

Which is the subject and verb in the above sentences?

Compound sentence

• Twee simple sentences samenvoegen met voegwoorden:
• voegwoorden (linking words): but, or, and, so

Example:

2 simple sentences:

He works at a supermarket. He works at a carwash

Compound sentence:

He works at a supermarket and he works at a carwash.
