An adjective describes something or someone, it says something about the noun. (zelfstandig naamwoord)

An adjective describes something or someone, it says something about the verbs to be / to seem / to appear (koppelwerkwoorden). 

1. This book is good.
2. Her mother seems nice.

An adjective describes something or someone, it says something about the verbs  to taste / to smell / to sound / * to look* / * to feel *(zintuiglijke werkwoorden). 

1. That pie tastes awful.
2. This band's music sounds  horrible

Adjective or adverb?
to look good = er mooi / goed uitzien
to look well = er gezond uitzien

You look good in that new dress. / You don't look well, you should go to bed.

to feel good = je prettig voelen
to feel well = je gezond voelen

I felt good when I was performing on stage. / He doesn't feel well so he called in sick this morning.

From adjective to adverb: -ly
Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly after the adjective.
Beautiful - beautifully

Remember! Sometimes the spelling of the adverb changes. 
Terrible - terribly
Easy - easily

adjectives ending in -ic => - ally (econimic - economically

An adverb can also describe an adjective.

1. Frank is an extremely good singer.
2. My brother is an awfully careful driver.
3. It's an absolutely perfect video clip.

An adverb can also describe another adverb in the sentence.

1. Frank sings absolutely beautifully.
2. My brother drives really well.
3. That clip was filmed extremely perfectly.

Adjectives 
Adverbs (Bijwoorden) can describe other words. An adverb says, for example, how something has happened or how something is done. It tells you something about the verb (!!! geen koppelwerkwoorden of zintuiglijke werkwoorden!!!).

1. Frank sings well. 
2. My brother drives carefully.

Irregular  adverbs 1
There are also irregular adverbs. The adverb for good is  well - She's a good performer. She performs well. 

A few adverbs have the same form as the adjective.
Fast (snel), fair (sportief/eerlijk), low, high, hard, long, late, loud, short,  and straight (onmiddelijk) - 
He's a fast driver
He drives fast

An adverb can also say something about the full sentence.
Honestly, I think he should have a talk with his boss about his payment.
Unfortunately, my grandma cannot walk without a bit of help.

Irregular  adverbs 2
Some of the irregular adverbs get a different meaning if you add -ly
fairly = nogal, tamelijk, "vet"
highly = ontzettend
hardly = nauwelijks
lately = de laatste tijd
shortly = binnenkort
