A personal email/letter ​

Start with a friendly greeting:​

Dear Nick/ Hi Joe​

Use contractions: ​

You are -> You're​

I am -> I'm​

Ask questions to show you want a reply:​

Do you have plans for the weekend? /Do you like to go to the cinema?​

Finish the letter/email with a friendly goodbye:​

All the best/ bye for now/ Love..​

Tips for E-mails

• Use the capital "I" !!! 
•  Don't repeat words too much
• Try to ask a question for your pal to reply
• Read everything two times over!
• If you don't know a word, try to write something similar.
• Read the questions very well!

Present simple

There are some occasions where you have to use some rules.​

Spelling rules for He/She/It:​

Normally most verbs add -s: I walk -> he walks​

Verbs ending with sh,ss,o,ch,x add –es: ​

I wash -> He washes/ I stress-> She stresses/ I watch -> It watches​

I go -> He goes / I relax -> She relaxes​

Verbs ending in consonant + y changes to –ies: I study -> She studies​

Irregular verbs like have -> has​

Wanneer gebruik je de Present Simple?

1. Bij feiten, gewoontes en dingen die regelmatig gebeuren.
2. Wanneer iets nu bezig of aan de gang is.
3. Wanneer je het hebt over iets wat je wilt gaan doen.
4. Als je verteld over iets wat je is overkomen.
