What are homophones?
Homophones are words that are pronounced the same as another word but differ in meaning or in spelling.

- Spelled the same: rose (flower) and rose (past tense of "rise")
- OR spelled differently: rain, reign, and rein.

Slide 26 - Slide

The poem gradually increases its use of homophones, which a spell checker would treat as correct.

According to Zar, 127 of the poem's 225 words are incorrect, though correctly spelled!
