Explanation VLOG/podcast assignment
+ starting the assignment

Slide 4 - Slide

You'll hand in:

1. A VLOG or Podcast, done alone or in a group of two.
2. A script
3. A checklist, which makes sure your assignment is complete.

Slide 5 - Slide

What should you do?  FASE 1.            1-2 lessen.

1. Verzin een STANDPUNT over het onderwerp: "to the extreme".
4. Maak je mening over het onderwerp duidelijk.

Slide 6 - Slide

For example:
Standpunt: Extreme sports should be banned.

Argument 1: There's a high Risk of Fatalities and Severe Injuries
Extreme sports involve life-threatening risks, even for experienced athletes. For example, Dean Potter, a well-known wingsuit flyer, died in 2015 while base jumping in
Yosemite National Park. This incident shows that extreme sports can result in fatal accidents.

Argument 2: Encourages Reckless Behavior, Especially Among Young People
Many extreme sports are glorified on social media, influencing young and inexperienced people to attempt dangerous stunts. The "rooftopping" trend, where people climb skyscrapers without safety equipment, has resulted in multiple deaths. One example is Wu Yongning, a Chinese daredevil who fell to his death in 2017 while attempting a stunt for social media.

What should you do?  FASE 2 - Script.        2-3 lessen.

1. Je gebruikt 20 woorden uit de woordenlijst van ch4.

For example
Alex: "Hey Jordan, have you ever thought about whether extreme sports should be banned? Some people say they are too dangerous."
Jordan: "I understand the concern, but I believe banning them would be excessive. Many people train for years to develop their skills and take safety precautions. Take Alex Honnold, for example—he climbed El Capitan without ropes, but he trained for years before attempting it."
Alex: "That’s impressive, but don’t you think extreme sports encourage reckless behavior? Remember that viral video of the guy wingsuiting between skyscrapers? He barely made it! Some thrill-seekers deliberately take unnecessary risks."
Jordan: "That’s true, but instead of banning them, we should focus on improving safety measures. Professional extreme athletes wear protective gear and undergo intense training. The real issue is amateurs attempting dangerous stunts without preparation."
Alex: "I guess a better solution would be stricter regulations rather than banning the sports entirely. That way, people can still enjoy them responsibly."
