Teacher reads the poem William the Conqueror Sends a Postcard Home by John Coldwell.

Teacher should point out informal style of writing to link the poem to exam writing assignments but also to point out a different perspective, who is the speaker and a different form of poetry; no rhyme scheme, one stanza, unequal lengths between stops and the use of comments in brackets.

Teacher may need to retrieve grammar terminology such as; adjectives, nouns, verbs and adverbs.
